Dealership Trouble

I purchased a 2001 VW Beetle on 6/28/01. Six days later, the same day that I picked up my permanent tag, the automatic transmission went out on my way home. I had put $1,000.00 down on the "new" car, and felt assured that it was reliable. Aren't brand new cars supposed to be reliable. I called the dealer when I finally got home. (The car had no reverse and would only run in low gear.) I had the car towed back to the dealership, and I went to the dealership (Keffer's Auto Village in Statesville, NC) to get a loaner vehicle to use while my car was being repaired. (The loaner car was so filthy inside that on the 2nd day I personally vacuumed it out and cleaned the interior, because I couldn't stand to drive it with all the dirt and animal hair inside.) Many phone calls and eight days later, I have had my car returned to me. I have filed complaints with VW of North America and our dealership, Keffer's Auto VIllage in Statesville, NC. Their customer service stinks ! ! ! ! From EComplaints
