This has to be the funniest thing I've found on the internet. I'm a swore car guy, I've got Mopar Muscle(Dodge&Plymouth)which are legendary in there reliablity...318s & Slant 6s need I say more. Recently I became involed with Datsun/Nissan cars(SELL YOUR JETTA AND BUY A MAXIMA...ONLY THE PAINT SUCKS ON THEM)...and found a wealth of info....So I'm workin' on my wife's '99 Wolfsburg Jetta(just changing the oil) and I thought that I'd unhook the battery and dump the trouble codes off the ECM....Well now the car will only run from 800 to about 2800rpm or for about 10 seconds and then it returns to idle(which has become rough? all of a sudden)THEN it will surge off for another cycle....I figure most of you aren't mechanics because you all are talking about warranty issuses. I was looking for an owners group(there is one for ANYTHING I've looked at that has a decent to dedicated following)....This cars muffler(don't know which one really..whats up with TWO PIECE of SH*T mufflers) fell off TWICE in the first 6mo of its life....I thought is was just my wifes driving...now I know that this thing is HISTORY!....I've been having the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT thing starting and the heater/ac panel has gone dark.....I HATE THESE CARS....BUY A NISSAN MAXIMA SE....I've driven my boss's car a number of times and IT EATS PASSAT/JETTA VR6s for lunch.....plus it runs like a top and its a NISSAN..they are better....I don't care now if my wife doesn't really like them because their not "cute"...screw cute....sorry we all got RIPPED OFF.
