Wed 6-Aug Buying a 2003 VW Jetta GLI today... >>

Wed 6-Aug Inoperable Speedometer & odometer not working. Test Drive. >>

Wanted to purchase this model and color scheme. Did not want this car, as I had no idea how many times it had been test driven with the odometer disconnected. For all I know it could have been used by a dealership employee and no mileage would not have appeared. I drove it 40 miles during my test drive alone. The salesman assured me it was simply a blown fuse and that the 57 miles showing was accurate. He also stated that there were no others in this model-color arrangement. He said he would have the speedometer & odometer fixed and the mileage set to reflect the miles I drove while testing it. I agreed to this and purchased the vehicle. Dealer provided Federal "Odometer Disclosure Statement" which was false. >>
