I got a new VW Jetta 2002. After 3 days I hear clicking noise under
the hood. I take my car in and VW says that noise is OK - nothing to
worry about. 3 days pass and the yellow engine light on the
dashboard goes on indicating a malfunction, surprisingly the noise
is gone. The light stays on for 5 days while I desperately try to
schedule an appointment at VW. Finaly a day before my appointment
the yellow light does off and the noise is back. VW takes the care
in and says that it performs to the VW specs and that the noise is
coming from the EVAP PURGE VALVE that is working correctly. I say:
What about the noise, they say - YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. I say,
Show me a new Jetta on your lot that makes the same kind of noise.
They show me sevaral and none of them makes the noise. VW says TOUGH
SHIT we cannot replace the part JUST BECAUSE it is making the noise
because VW would not reimburse us. I'm pissed off, I write
complaints all over the internet and tell all my friends SPREAD THE
WORD - VW SUCKS.
