Pros: Was and I mean Was a blast to drive.
I leased this LEMON and can walk away without getting hosed.

I am not surprised to see polar opposite reviews, LOVE it HATE it.

VW’s have a huge quality discrepancy called Germany, Brazil, Mexico.

Cons: In for service 12 times in the past 8 months, for an average of 2 weeks at a time.

Window dropped, Engine Misfires, Check Engine light always on, complete electrical shut down in traffic, refuses to move on cold starts. Replaced ECU (engine control unit (computer) twice. Mass air flow sensor twice, electrical ignition coil, battery, upper head and valve cleaning. Guess what? They still can’t fix this Golf. Contacted VW of America numerous times begging them to look at the maintenance history on this car and to let me out of remaining lease. Their response, “where sorry, have a nice day”.

Overall Review: Fortunate to have a descent dealer, service department and an excellent mechanic named Smiley, who all but said “this car beat me” I’ve had no out of pocket, and always offered a loaner car. Too bad VWoA wouldn’t step up and save a customer. My lease is up in 4 months; I drop off the keys and walk across the street to Mazda and never look back.

VW’s are like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get.
