VW Parts Shortage

It was the second time the power windoow on my 1999 VW Jetta broke. At the dealer was told this is a very common problem in VWs. Since the dealer didn't offer me any substitute car, and since I couldn't leave the place by any other means, I had to rent a car. When I called VW to reimburse me of the rental car, they told me they wouldn't do it because it only took them one day to fix it. The problem is that they are forgetting that I still had to leave the dealer and I still had to go to work the next day. For me it doesn't make any difference if it took them just one day, or two, the point is that this is obviously a factory problem, it was the second time it happened in a less than 1,5 years old car, and I still needed one car for the day it took them to repair it. In addition two of the customer reps. I talked to at VW were very rude. I am also waiting on them fixing a recall they made in April until now. They always tell me there is a shortage in parts and they can't fix what VW considered a security problem.
